Dense Fog Causes Deadly Yamuna Expressway Pile-Up; 13 Burnt Alive as 11 Vehicles Go Up in Flames:

A tragic road accident shook the Yamuna Expressway on Tuesday morning when dense fog led to a massive pile-up involving 11 vehicles, resulting in a devastating fire that claimed at least 13 lives. Several vehicles were completely gutted as flames spread rapidly, leaving victims trapped inside.

According to initial reports, extremely low visibility due to thick fog caused vehicles to collide one after another at high speed. The impact triggered a fire, allegedly intensified by fuel leakage, turning the expressway into a scene of chaos and devastation within minutes.

Fire Breaks Out After Chain Collision

Eyewitnesses said that the accident occurred when drivers failed to spot halted vehicles ahead because of near-zero visibility. The collision caused multiple vehicles, including cars and larger transport vehicles, to burst into flames. Some occupants were unable to escape in time and were burnt alive, making the incident one of the deadliest accidents on the expressway in recent times.

Emergency Response and Rescue Efforts

Police, fire brigade teams, and emergency medical services rushed to the spot immediately after the incident was reported. Firefighters worked for hours to douse the flames and retrieve bodies from the burnt vehicles. The injured were shifted to nearby hospitals, where several remain in critical condition.

Authorities temporarily closed a stretch of the Yamuna Expressway to clear debris and ensure safe passage for other commuters. Traffic was diverted, causing long delays.

Fog and Road Safety Concerns

Officials have once again urged motorists to avoid high speeds during foggy conditions, maintain safe distances, and use fog lights while driving. Winter fog has been a recurring cause of major accidents across North India, raising serious concerns about road safety and preparedness.

Investigation Underway

The exact cause of the fire and the sequence of collisions are under investigation. Authorities are also examining whether safety protocols were followed and if warning systems were adequate given the weather conditions.
