Amonkar Claims Land Status Changed Without Consent After Goa Nightclub Fire
Pradeep Ghadi Amonkar, who asserts he is the original owner of the land where the fire-hit ‘Birch by Romeo Lane’ operated, has alleged that part of his property was reclassified without his knowledge—reportedly to benefit the nightclub.
Amonkar said he had signed a sale agreement with Surinder Kumar Khosla in 2004, but the deal was cancelled within six months after he did not receive the payment. According to him, Khosla went on to set up a nightclub on the same land, which was later taken over by Saurabh and Gaurav Luthra, owners of Birch by Romeo Lane.
He further stated that he discovered the “zone change” on December 11 while preparing documents to approach the High Court regarding the recent fire tragedy. Amonkar claims that a section of his property, previously categorized as a salt pan, had been quietly converted into a settlement zone without any intimation to him.
