Google announces paid internships and apprenticeship programmes for UG, PG, and PhD students

Google has announced paid internship and apprenticeship opportunities for students pursuing or holding bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD degrees. These roles are available at the company’s offices in Bengaluru, Pune, and Hyderabad.

Eligible candidates can apply for programs such as Silicon Engineering Intern (PhD) – Summer 2026, Software Engineering PhD Intern – Summer 2026, and Student Researcher – 2026. Details of the roles, eligibility criteria, and application process are provided below

Silicon Engineering Intern, PhD – Summer 2026:

PhD scholars currently enrolled in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical disciplines are eligible to apply. The application deadline is March 31, 2026. Selected interns will work closely with hardware and software architects and designers, contributing to the architecture, modelling, analysis, definition, and design of next-generation Cloud Silicon technologies.

Software Engineering PhD Intern – Summer 2026:
PhD candidates specialising in software development or related technical disciplines are eligible to apply. The internship spans 12-14 weeks and includes opportunities for both personal and professional growth, an executive speaker series, and community-building activities. Interns will gain hands-on experience working on complex computer science challenges, building scalable and distributed software systems, and collaborating on a range of smaller projects with broad, real-world impact.

Student Researcher – 2026:
Students currently pursuing a bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD degree in fields such as Computer Science, Linguistics, Statistics, Biostatistics, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research, Economics, or the Natural Sciences are eligible to apply. The application deadline is March 31, 2026. The program places students on teams across Google, spanning research, engineering, and science roles. Participants will contribute to research initiatives aimed at solving real-world problems at scale.
