Rupee Slips 20 Paise to 90.07 Against the US Dollar in Early Trading

The Indian rupee weakened by 20 paise to reach ₹90.07 per US dollar in early trading on Wednesday. The currency came under pressure due to increased dollar demand from importers, concerns over tariffs, and heightened market caution ahead of the US Federal Reserve’s policy announcement.

According to forex traders, the upcoming US–India trade discussions may provide some supportive sentiment for the rupee. Both countries are set to begin a three-day negotiation on the first phase of their proposed bilateral trade agreement starting December 10.

At the interbank foreign exchange market, the rupee opened at ₹90.00 against the dollar but soon slipped to ₹90.07 amid the prevailing market uncertainties.
