Suspended Congress leader Navjot Kaur Sidhu has sought security cover from Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, days after her controversial “₹500 crore for the chief minister’s chair” remark triggered a political storm and led to her suspension from the party.
In a post on X, Kaur questioned the Chief Minister’s silence on the issues she had raised with Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria and accused the Mann government of facilitating the liquor and mining mafia. She also alleged a land scam involving protected forest areas around the Shivalik hills and claimed that law and order in the state was deteriorating.
Kaur, the wife of former Punjab Congress chief Navjot Singh Sidhu, also hit back at ex-chief minister Amarinder Singh, who had described the couple as “unstable.” She accused him of blocking key development projects during his tenure and challenged him to answer questions related to mining, liquor policy and land cases.
