Ahead of the NEET-UG 2026 re-test, Nishant Kumar Yadav reviewed the preparations and briefed officials on the comprehensive measures put in place to ensure the examination is conducted smoothly, fairly and transparently.
The NEET-UG 2026 re-test is scheduled for June 21. Around 3,800 candidates in Chandigarh are expected to appear for the national entrance examination, which serves as the gateway for admission to undergraduate medical and dental courses across the country.
TIGHT SECURITY FOR QUESTION PAPERS
A total of seven examination centres have been set up across schools in Chandigarh for the smooth conduct of the NEET-UG 2026 re-test. To ensure the security and integrity of the examination, confidential materials will be transported from designated banks to the centres under the protection of the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF), accompanied by the respective Centre Superintendents.
These measures are aimed at ensuring the secure handling of question papers and maintaining their integrity throughout every stage of the examination process.
ANTI-CHEATING AND SURVEILLANCE MEASURES
Electronic jammers have been installed at all examination centres to block the use of mobile phones and other electronic devices, helping to prevent malpractice and ensure the integrity of the examination.
Candidates will undergo a two-tier frisking process at entry points to prevent the carrying of prohibited items.
- First Level: Screening by the local police.
- Second Level: Frisking by a professional agency appointed by the National Testing Agency (NTA) specifically for the examination.
CANDIDATE FACILITIES AND ADMINISTRATIVE OVERSIGHT
All examination centres have been equipped with essential facilities, including drinking water, adequate seating, proper lighting, ventilation and sanitation, to ensure a comfortable environment for candidates.
Duty Magistrates have been deployed at each examination centre to oversee the conduct of the examination, maintain law and order, and respond promptly to any contingencies.
Candidates have been advised to carry their NEET-UG 2026 admit card along with a valid government-issued photo identity card. They have also been asked to report to their respective examination centres at least one hour before the scheduled commencement of the test.
The Chandigarh district administration has appealed to candidates, parents and the general public to cooperate fully to ensure the smooth, fair and hassle-free conduct of the NEET-UG 2026 re-test.
