As interest in overseas education continues to rise among Indian students, a UK-based university has introduced a new scholarship initiative to ease the financial burden of studying abroad. Nottingham Trent University (NTU) has launched a range of merit-based scholarships offering up to 50% tuition fee support for eligible Indian applicants.
The announcement comes amid growing demand for international degrees that provide stronger career opportunities and practical exposure. NTU stated that the expanded scholarship programme aims to improve accessibility while attracting high-achieving students from India, now its largest international student group.
The scholarships will be granted based on students’ academic achievements, leadership potential, and overall profile.
University officials said the initiative reflects the growing demand for UK education among Indian students, along with the need to offer financial support.
NTU’s flagship Excellence Scholarships form the core of this programme. These highly competitive awards provide significant tuition fee reductions across both undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
For undergraduate students, the scholarship offers a 50% or 25% fee waiver in the first year, followed by £3,000 per year for the remainder of the course. In total, students can receive up to £15,350 (50%) or £10,675 (25%) over the duration of their degree.
Postgraduate students are eligible for scholarships ranging from £2,000 to £12,500, depending on the course and level of academic achievement.
